That is neat! I've always liked crushed ice because it reminds me of the ice they put in drinks at barbecue restaurants.
For me, it's the New Yorker Delicatessen. They have the coolest crushed ice.
I love crushed ice, the smaller the better. I would guess this would go over well with me at my home as well.
It wasn't very expensive, and I think you and your family would love it. Heck, at my house, even my dad likes it, and that's rare for anything!
