february 9 article - get "moore" crafty

This is on A.C. Moore, the arts and crafts retailer. I thought it came out pretty well.

  1. As you'd expect, I love both Michaels and AC Moore. Generally the selection of what I am looking for is cheaper, and displayed a bit nicer @ AC Moore. The stores do appear to be brighter. On the other hand, Michaels has it's good points as well, and different things that I look for(plus right now, they are closer to me than an AC Moore is).

Good story-glad one will be near you there.

  2. I like A.C. Moore a lot better than Michaels, but them having a great selection of vintage-look signs is a factor in this opinion.

  3. I have found some of the best vintage looking signs (assuming we are speaking of the same thing) at Mast General Store in Boone and Bubbas in Chimney Rock. I have taken a look at the ones found at AC Moore and Michaels, but they are definately more expensive than the ones I found at Mast and Bubbas. My favorite ones have to be my bed and breakfast sign and the self serve laundry 24 hrs one.

  4. I think we are talking about the same thing. Those sound like cool signs.

I've heard great things about Mast from my friends, but I've nver heard of Bubba's. I've never been to either one.

Bubba was/is a dog, their dog btw.

Mast is fun too. Be sure if you ever go, to go the extra distance and visit the original one in Valle Crucis, just a few miles from Boone NC(where there is yet another Mast store). You also might enjoy reading about their history here: http://www.maststoreonline.com/about.htm
