Williams-Sonoma Sued Over Fluffernutter

Chain Store Age

Syracuse, N.Y. - The Post-Standard in Syracuse, N.Y., reported that Durkee-Mower Inc., the maker of Marshmallow Fluff, sued Williams-Sonoma Inc., claiming the company misused the registered trademark Fluffernutter.

The company claims Williams-Sonoma has been selling a marshmallow-and-peanut-butter chocolate-covered candy named Fluffernutter without permission.

The company, which defines its product as a “concoction of Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter combined together in a tasty sandwich,” filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Boston.
