State College police probe theft of 235 pairs of panties

From CDT staff reports

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- It could be considered the ultimate panty raid.

But State College police are not amused and are looking for two people who stole $2,098 worth of panties from Victoria's Secret in the Nittany Mall on Thursday morning.

Two hundred thirty-five pairs of underwear, to be precise, were taken from the store about 11 a.m. The theft was reported later Thursday.

"This may be the first ever theft of panties totaling this much," State College police Sgt. Mark Argiro said.

Police are looking for two suspects, a woman in her mid- to late 40s, Hispanic, with dark hair and a "thick foreign accent," Argiro said.

The second suspect is a tall, "well dressed" black man with gold fillings between his front teeth, police said.
