Independence Day Party at Forest Oaks Country Club

As I mentioned earlier, we have a huge Independence Day party every year at my mom’s country club. We usually have a respectable turnout of about 30 to 50 people each year, but some years we have many more.

Anyway, I thought I’d share a few pictures from this year's party. I assure you there were dozens more people there than the pictures show, but taking the shots without people lets you see what we had up a little better.

  1. Oh, my god. is that band equipment? do you set up a stage for this occasion, or is that a year round fixture?

    and the plates?....

as my mom used to say: 'you crazy!'

oh wait. i'm pretty sure somebody's mom said that, because I saw it in a movie once that I rented from blockbuster and it's overdue...

  2. Thanks! We leave the stage up all year so we can stage a concert any time we want.

You always have an open invitation :-)

  3. you'll regret that.....

    hope your week was fun.

this holiday probably allows for the greatest variation in its observances. however, one can never go wrong with live music and hot dogs on star plates......

    and fireworks, if they're legal.

    and especially if they're not...

  5. Heather: Yeah, mny week was pretty good. There's so much stuff to talk about, but almost none of it makes a good story outside of compilation., and I just hadn't had time. This is the first free time i've had all week that I wasn't sleepy or crabby.

No fireworks this time. The money wasn;t right, and I didn't have time to get the good stuff.

Muddy: Thanks for the compliment. The stars are the things that seems to tie the whole patriotic palette together. If you gert close to them, they have this gold accent on the edgest that looks amazing.
