With mating season in swing, a buck deer apparently decided to do a little shopping for his lady friend Monday by running through a Johnson County department store.
Overland Park, Kan. police said that just after 10 a.m., the animal smashed through a glass door at one of the two Dillard’s stores at Oak Park Mall. Witnesses reported that the animal entered the North Dillard’s store, which houses the women’s departments, and struck some clothing racks. The animal then ran into a wall, turned and left the same way he entered.
No injuries were reported. The mess caused by the unexpected shopper was quickly cleaned, and the store remained open. Dillard’s officials declined comment. The dollar amount of the damage is unknown.
The deer was still at large this afternoon.
I appreciate your recent focus on bizarre doings at malls across the country. The Game got arrested, yet this deer gets away?
ReplyDeleteThat's messed up, yo ;)
ReplyDeleteOn Billy's site, he tells the story of the two dear that found their way into the late Carolina Circle Mall back in 1977. This story kind of remined me of that one, but the deer came out okay at Dillard's.
I was watching a news clip off CNN this morning online about a deer that jumped through this man's window of his home. After catching the deer, it now resides in his freezer.
ReplyDeleteOne thing's for sure. The deer are getting braver this year. ;-)
