For $79.99, die-hard White Sox fans can have the World (Series) at their feet.

Reebok's limited edition Chicago White Sox World Series commemorative sneakers will hit Dunham's and Hibbett sports stores across the state beginning this week, according to Reebok. Only 2,005 pairs will be sold.

The white shoes, which feature a silver World Series chain and black Sox logo, can also be ordered online at www.reebok.com and may be available in other local sports stores later in the month.

"The Chicago White Sox World Series collector shoe is a product for the true fan," Reebok spokesman Gregg Dixon said.

"With only 2,005 pairs made, it is a true collector's item for fans who have waited so long for a World Series title and deserve a piece of memorabilia to commemorate the White Sox's historic victory."

Last year, Reebok marketed a special World Series Boston Red Sox shoe, but it wasn't available at retail outlets until the holidays, said Kevin Hennessy, another Reebok spokesman.

The Sox sweep against the Houston Astros forced Reebok to ramp up production, and the company's consumer hotline was flooded with calls after fans saw the shoes featured on television, Hennessy said.

Reebok is also issuing 2,005 Astros shoes, but they do not include the World Series chain, Hennessy said. Those are being sold online and in Texas.
