Mexican mall dedicated to adult entertainment

In the heart of Mexico City's historic district, a colonial-style building houses a sexual revolution, of sorts.

A new mall, called the Sex Capital, set to open later this month, features hundreds of shops, a museum, and a movie theater. Inside, it offers lingerie, alluring scents, erotic jewelry, and books.

"It's very new; we don't have a lot of competition," a merchant said. The mall is brightly painted and well lit. The developer wanted to create an open atmosphere, one he hopes reflects Mexico's new attitude about sex.

"It's healthy," a shopper says. "Very interesting."

Access is strictly controlled. No minors are allowed. Of course, the mall has its critics. Still, the sex industry is growing in Mexico as more people feel the need to explore the topic in this predominantly Catholic country.

Adult entertainment stars from the United States have been invited to the mall's grand opening.
