I had an idea to continue the LED lighting from last year, but with larger lights. These are primarily C9 size accented by mini lights in the background. The biggest drawback is that I don't think the larger lights cover the tree as well as the minis and the red disappears with orange and blue pushing to the forefront. I didn't like it at first, but I've made my peace with it, and it looks pretty good, just not like I'd hoped.
I used my full sized (7.5 ft) tree and the typical ornaments, along with some of the plastic character ornaments I haven't used in several years. The C9s give a slightly more retro, child-like look to the tree, so they seemed appropriate.
