Choose Your Sole Mate This Spring

Those looking for the answers about their future need not look further than their own feet. Literally. According to author Meghan Cleary, shoes weren't just made for walking. What's on you feet just might explain what type of person you are and what sort of path they are leading you down.

In Cleary's new book, "The Perfect Fit: What Your Shoes Say About You," she explores why consumers are attracted to certain types of shoes and how those shoes reflect the wearer's inner self. "Shoes explain so much not only about a person's personality, but about the outcome of a person's life," said Cleary. "Your shoe sign is your most natural state of being."

"I mostly wear running shoes or some sort of basic sneaker," said business management major Josh Copely. "They're comfortable and I can wear them with almost anything. What that tells me about myself I'm not sure, but if I could guess I'd say it'd make me a very mobile and carefree person," Copely added.

According to Cleary, Copely's shoe trends would very much match the likes of Madonna, who sports running shoes regularly. "Running shoes mean you are bubbly yet businesslike and quick on your feet," said Cleary. These shoes also reflect an inner confidence which has a sort of drawing effect upon others added Cleary.

Here are just a few of Cleary's other horoscope shoes trends. Find out what's in your closet, and how it might relate to your personality and lifestyle.

Stilettos
"You're your own woman and likely to be self-possessed," reported Cleary.

Stilettos also imply that a person is self-determined, sophisticated, and orderly. Most likely, said Cleary, stiletto wearers are trend-setters, always trying out new styles and making them fashionable to the rest of the populace.

The style of a stiletto shoe owner is sleek and sexy, with many little black dress-type clothing choices. Cleary also said stilettos are likely to wear more make-up and jewelry when going out.

Knee-high boots
"You're well-read and kind," said Cleary. "There's a good chance that you're loaded, too."

These trendy boot wearers are similar in style and personality to the likes of actresses like Sarah Jessica Parker and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Women of this shoe type are typically found at the hot spots like clubs and parties. These wearers also seem to hold an affinity for leather and animal prints, said Cleary.

Work or Combat Boots
"Flirtation, not really. Agitation? Rock on!" said Cleary. "You're an activist who can be known for organizing a political rally or two," Cleary added.

Both men and women that sport combat boots or work boots are typically very sociable and influential people. They like to be seen and heard, and like to stay on the wild side of things according to Cleary.

Chuck Taylor All Stars
Invented by a man named Charles Taylor (who'd have guessed) who is best known for being a representative of the Converse All Star, the shoes is recognized as a classic canvas sneaker.

"All Stars are regularly worn by people of all ages," reported Clearly. "The wearer is spunky and a little on the strange side, but is generally likeable. He or she is drawn to the exciting," said Cleary. "The wearer just might be the member of a rock band."

The main accessories for those sporting a pair of Chucks include dangling chains, tight shirts, and ripped jeans. Chuck wearers also tend to jump relationships and always have a new love interest in their sights. This person is drawn to color, which is why perhaps they enjoy wearing these shoes since they come in a rainbow of colors and styles, said Cleary.

Ballet flats
"She is classic but she likes funky looks," said Cleary. "She's got strong middle-class values and always has a steady boyfriend. She's also the peacemaker among her friends," said Cleary.

Women who are fans of ballet flats tend to stick to trends like solid tees and designer jeans according to Cleary. Her idea of getting a little crazy is adding some lace to her ensemble. She likes lovers who will shower her with attention as well, Cleary said.

Sandals
"You're carefree and spirited, but not when it comes to money. You don't really care about the hottest trends of today. You're just waiting for the summer days to come back, as well as summer romance," said Cleary.

A sandal wearer enjoys wearing these shoes because the styles constantly change and they tend to be rather economical. A person who likes to wear sandals enjoys the inner beauty in people, which is one of their natural charms according to Cleary.

Hot spots for sandal wearers are yoga classes and coffee shops.
