  1. VERY GOOD SWAIN! NICE WORK. YOUR BONUS CHECK IS IN THE MAIL. OH WAIT -- YOU'RE NOT A REGULAR EMPLOYEE. WE'LL HAVE TO HAVE A TALK WITH LORI UP AT PERSONNEL ABOUT THAT. ANYWAY, NICE WORK. TAKING SOME TIME OFF FOR THE HOLIDAYS? RIGHT, YOU DON'T WORK FOR US. SO A VACATION ALLOWANCE IS OUT OF THE QUESTION............

20 bucks!?? I just paid 32 for the shortest noble at the Despot. The Doug's were cheaper, but ecch. Those are made to live 500 years and harbor spotted owls or at least provide TP and wainscotting if they don't find themselves in protected status or Dubya is president......

    Twenty...?

Also, I find it amusing when pseudo-enviro types begrudge the natural tree (my derision is based on the assumption that all trees are farm-grown, which may be a leap...). However, in keeping with the spirit of your article and their sentiments, the key to maintaining that pine-y smell in the home during the holidays is to gather the garlands from all the hellacious snow-and-windstorms that are so prevalent in November, and lay them about, or make a wreath. It occurs to me that this might be one of the more pagan origins of the Christmas tree tradition........

  2. Twenty...? Yes $20. They used to sell between $10-15 and he freaked when they went up. Were it not for Mom's Sears card and a last minute floor-model clearance at Piedmont Mall, we would have had no tree that year.

The sad part was that he had the money to get it, and flat out refused, even though he could see it was obviously getting to me.

We've gathered pine from outdoors in years past to get the smell going, but that spray was too cool not to mention.
