december 15 article - the one on ham

This is less glamorous than the diamond story, but more tasty. It’s on ham.

  1. I always despised ham...I find it repulsive. However, your article sure does make it sound like a yummy adventure. Unfortunately, my tastebuds would be forced to disagree!

  2. I like mine heavily glazed with cloves. Mom used to fix it like that all the time, and she stopped. I demanded that she go back to the old way this year and it was as good as I remembered.

Before you throw in the towel on ham, make sure you try country ham. It won't knock your socks off, but it's pretty tasty in all the ways city ham isn't.

  3. Second that -- Sorry, too yankee for ham.

I like 'fancy-pants'. Who is this mystery aesthete, and why does his voice seem so familiar?

I like the scene in 'Supersize Me' where the discussion of the merits of returning to a carnivore diet after detoxing from McyD's consists of the following dialogue: "HAM is GOOD."

    "Well, heroin is good, too......."

"I'm sorry, but (mom's baked) ham and heroin do NOT belong in the same category........"

My reasons for not going veg lean toward a porterhouse, cooked so rare (obvious oxymorons observed) you can still envision its long, sad eyelashes begging you for mercy.

I'm going to burn in hell.

I just hope I don't burn the ham....
