As NBA Finals begin, all eyes are on the shoes

Chuck Taylors, Air Jordans, shell-toe Adidas.

Sneakers aren't just for hoops. They're a statement about attitude and style.

Michael Jordan's vertical leap made him a great dunker. With Nike's Air Jordans, he became an icon.

More than any other sport, basketball and its shoes have become a part of pop culture.

People don't wear canvas Converse All Stars any more to play basketball. They wear them to stand out.

With the Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs starting the NBA Finals Thursday night, basketball and its shoes will once again take center stage.

Youngsters around the world won't be watching just to see who makes the winning shot. They'll be watching to see what he's wearing as he walk off the court.
