Hanes Mall lands sports retailer

Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. plans to build a store on four acres between Olive Garden and Discount Performance at Hanes Mall, said Dennis Cerny, the mall's general manager.

Cerny said he doesn't have a timeline for the project.

Dick's Sporting Goods is a sporting-goods retailer in Pittsburgh that sells an assortment of brand-name apparel and footwear in a specialty-store environment. The retailer has a store in Greensboro.

Hanes Mall has also landed a Jimmy'Z store. The men's and women's casual apparel and accessories store will open on the upper level where Racing Country currently has space.

Cerny said that mall officials are working with Racing Country to move it elsewhere in the mall. He expects Jimmy'Z to open in about two months.
