I'm a Democrat. Strongly inclined toward Socialist, natch. I'm in the exact spot Steven occupies, but on the x-axis' positive quadrant. This is all lost, along with my brilliant tyrannical directive du jour (ha), because I didn't properly register. It's funny that someone as commercially-inclined as Mitch would find himself in the Socialist radian, but this just speaks to my shallow understanding of the potential socioeconomics inherent in mall design(!)
Actually, values and intellect seem to be the critical components of this quiz: there are so many self-contradictory questions, tricky tautalogies about the media having too much influence and literacy being a critical component of a democratic society (Jim Crow laws? Voters' Rights Act? Universal education?)
Simplicity begets exasperation amongst the remaining sentient few that we comprise (picture stark landscape of 'Planet of the Apes' episode..........)
ganghis: Even though the choices aren't especially meaningful most times, you should register to vote. If you don't vote, you're just stuck with whatever you get.
I was saying on Mitch's site that I always considered the term "totalitarian" a little Soviet, because that's always where I used to hear the word on the news.
I thought the questions were a little general and simplistic too, but then again, they were located on a site called OK Cupid. You gets what you gets.
I think my views are a little closer to classic Democrat than what the quiz suggests.
Mall design is all over the place politically. It's somewhat conservative in nature, but it arises from a liberal ideal of a common marketplace and conveience. Then again, malls push materialism and the status quo while pressing for constant change and upgrades. It's a toss-up.
No, I mean 'register' with OK CUPID. They let you take the test without insisting you register with them first, and then, lo and behold, you have not observed the proper order of operations, and all your data is lost.....
You scared me: How did you know I seldom ever vote??
To your point, I'm in the quiz, realizing the questions are often pointed toward highly disagreeable comments, allowing you to choose the negation, and wondering, is there a margin for error built in?
I guess that's addressed in your question........
I'm in Gorbachev's forehead, northeast of the map of South America....
Dude! What are you doing hovering over Darth Vader?? Are you Samuel L. Jackson? (I consulted my son on this one: I don't think it's terribly accurate...)
I can't believe you are a totalitarian, that seems scary to me. Then again, I wouldn't call my self a democrat either. I can never decide whether I'm a libertarian or a republican. Go figure.
You're a Totalitarian??? I'm a Socialist.
ReplyDeleteFun quiz!

I really did think you were talking about politics and not about the poltics quiz. Coincidentally spooky, huh?

ReplyDeleteI imagine the test is a little distorted. I think the questions should have been written and scored differently.
